Reminders

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

As we were driving to town yesterday with the sky so blue and the sun shining brightly, we had an awesome experience. We had an eagle flying above our vehicle with us for a short distance. It was hard to tell at first glance what kind of bird it was because we were mostly focused on it leading us. All of a sudden we realized it was a majestic bald eagle!

We allow so many thoughts and words to come at us from the outside world, there are times when God will send something to visually get our attention.  Something that helps us to remember what the Holy Spirit has already taught us.

I had previously been taught that when we keep our eyes focused on the world with obstacles in our line of vision, we see chaos, negativity, and problems. When we look up, we see peace, positivity, and answers. That is when we’re expecting and believing.

With so many thoughts swirling in my head and so much to accomplish, I needed reminded on what to stay focused on because we so easily forget those old lessons. Yesterday was one of those times. He wasn’t teaching a new concept, He was reminding me of one that I learned sitting in front of a fire one day.

Just because times get busy, don’t think of it as a reason to set your time with God aside. This is the most important time to focus on Him. Through Him is our supernatural wisdom, supernatural energy, supernatural focus. We have to work smarter, not necessarily harder. We can do that by looking up!

Today, don’t skimp on God time. Look up and be ready for His reminders of what He’s already taught you and new lessons He has waiting to share. You’re from God. Repeat that until it sinks deep down inside you…”I’m from God.”

When you’re overwhelmed, frustrated, fearful, lonely, brokenhearted, angry, or low on energy, look away from the chaos of the world and look up to remember that the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. The one who is in the world will try to tell you differently, but the truth will set you free!
